About us

We (Andrea and Bjorn) from Colombia and Norway, met some years ago while doing our Master’s degrees in southern France. We since spent some years working in Paris, before spending 6-7 years living and working in Norway, before moving to Costa Rica. We have two children, Alicia and Samuel, who live with us here on the hotel property.

After having studied, worked and lived around Europe for some years, and having had our first child, we wanted to try something different. Costa Rica was an easy option as Andrea’s mother had been living here since 1998, and we had been here visiting several times, and felt we already knew a lot about the country. So we moved here in 2012….

Looking for a local business opportunity, we eventually found Posada el Quijote in 2013, and fell in love with the property, despite it having suffered some years of neglect. Since then, we have continued to make changes and upgrades, and the business has gradually grown, and we have made friends with many incredibly people from all over the world!
